I come from a long line of Hunters Hill residents. My great grandfather, Henry Ryves, was the mayor of Hunters Hill in 1940. My late parents, Alysoun and Carl Ryves, both grew up in Hunters Hill and were active members of the community. They contributed to saving the Goat paddock as founding members of the Foreshore 2000 group. Alysoun co-founded the Hunters Hill Quilters, while Carl was an Olympic Sailor and involved with the Hunters Hill Sailing Club, where my brother and I learned to sail. I am also involved with the club, with my two children now sailing every weekend. I share my parents' strong community values and have always contributed to my children's schools and our neighbourhoods.

I attended Hunters Hill Preschool, Woolwich and then Hunters Hill Public and Hunters Hill High School before completing a Bachelor of Visual Arts with Honors at the University of Sydney. I worked as a graphic designer at the Museum of Contemporary Art and then Penguin Books before founding music company Future Classic (Flume, G Flip, Flight Facilities) with my husband Nathan McLay (who also was born and raised in Woolwich). After living in the USA for many years I returned to Hunters Hill in 2020 and am lucky enough to live in my heritage-listed childhood home at Woolwich.

I am excited about Hunters Hill's future and ensuring its evolution is managed with integrity. I am passionate about the environment and preserving our green spaces as well as the heritage significance of Hunters Hill. My arts background and experience with building community in the music industry through my role as Creative Director at Future Classic over the past 20 years is a strength I feel I can bring to this community. I view greater transparency and community minded decision making as vital for ensuring our area retains its strengths and gets even better for the next generation.
